FLASHBACK

This flashback is about Nicki and Marcus’ relationship and what happened between them. Enjoy.

Marcus and Nicki were in their apartment; cuddled up, watching Love and Basketball. They were at the scene where Monica came over to Quincy’s dorm and found another woman there. He had obviously been cheating on her and she left. Nicki looked at Marcus.

“Babe you wouldn’t do that to me would you?” she asked seriously. He looked at her and shook his head.

“Never! You’re all I need” he said pecking her lips. She pulled away and smiled.

Marcus and Nicki had been together for seven years. He was her high school crush. They met when they were in ninth grade but at the time Marcus had a girlfriend already. Nicki didn’t care, she had to have him. 

She went to all his basketball games. He took notice. After his girlfriend dumped him accusing him of cheating, which he wasn’t, he asked Nicki out on a date and they’ve been together ever since then.

When Nicki started pursing her rap career Marcus couldn’t handle the fact that she was gone all the time. He felt like she was putting him last in her life. They would constantly argue then make up afterwards.

One day, Nicki came home from a long day at the studio. She was tired and all she wanted to do is take a shower and go to bed. She took her keys out and opened the door; turning the knob, she heard voices on the other side of the door but couldn’t make them out. She saw Marcus’ car in the parking lot so she figured that he was just on the phone talking.

Stepping into the apartment she saw Marcus and his ex sitting on her couch kissing. Her heart dropped into her stomach and she became enraged. Slamming the door shut, she threw her keys on the table and made her way towards them ready to bust a cap in Marcus.

“What the FUCK!” she said charging toward him. His ex got up from his lap and just stood there. Nicki dashed over to them and punched him in his chest repeatedly. His ex was about to grip Nicki’s hand to stop her when Nicki looked at her and slapped her in the face.

“You BITCH!” said about to start punching her too. Marcus stepped in front of her before she could, blocking Carmen. “Get out my Fuck’n way!” she snapped hitting him again. He took the blows she was serving him while trying to talk.

“Nicki stop!” he yelled. She didn’t listen to him. Nicki was still trying to get to her but he had his body blocking her and his arms out.

“I fuck’n hate you!” the screamed trying to get around him.

“Nicki, she’s pregnant!” he yelled. Nicki finally stopped and looked at him scrunching her face up. She paused for a minute and Marcus still was blocking Carmen just in case she started again. Nicki backed away looking at them.

“What did you say?” she said making sure she heard him right.

“I said she’s pregnant!” Nicki eyed the both of them.

“Is it yours?” she asked quizzically. He put his arms down and answered.

“Yes” he replied. Carmen looked at her smirking. Nicki saw her and became heated all over again.

“You lied to me!” she yelled punching him again. He held her hands to try and stop her from hitting him. She tried to break from his grip but he was too strong. She stopped trying and looked at him through her tears.

“How long have you been cheating on me Marcus?” she asked. He kept quiet.

“Two years!” Carmen blurted out.

“You bastard!” she said charging at him again.  A single tear escaped her eye. “Seven fucking years we’ve been together.” She yelled throwing him repeated blows to his chest. “Seven and you’ve been cheating for two!?” At this point she was crying. Marcus wrapped his arms around her to prevent from anymore blows.

“Nicki, stop!”

“Marcus how could you do this to me?” she cried.

“Nicki, I’m sorry!” he said apologizing. At this point Nicki didn’t want t hear it. She broke away from his grip and slapped him in the face.

“Pack your shit, get outta my house and take her ass with you!” she said pointing to the door.

He didn’t want to fight with her anymore so he did exactly what she said and left. Nicki went into her bedroom crying her eyes out. She pulled herself together and called her girls.

“Code 3” she said with her voice cracking.

“What happen?” Candi asked. Nicki hung up the phone she explain it them right at the moment. They hurried their way over to her.

The girls arrived at her apartment a few minutes later with movies and ice-cream.

“What happened?” Candi asked again furious. Nicki walked over to the couch with her cheeks puffy and red. They all followed sitting next to her.

She grabbed a couch pillow and held it sobbing. Tyesha rubbed her arm to try and comfort her. Nicki gathered what strength she had left and answered.

“He cheated on me with Carmen and she’s pregnant with his baby” she croaked.

“Oh no” Lauren said wrapping her arms around Nicki.

“And that worst part is that it’s been going on for two years!”

“What the fuck!” Candi yelled. Nicki shook her head.

“Two years” she said burying her face into the pillow. Lauren, Tyesha and Candi looked at each other. They wanted to beat Marcus’ ass but at this point their friend needed them. They all hugged her trying to consol her.

Nicki cried for hours, they never got to watch the movies because of it. They just sat on the couch with her until she eventually fell asleep.
