REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD

CHAPTER 4

*A week later*

Safaree and Nicki were back in New York recording and sending in tracks to Wayne for his verse to be put on. Nicki told all her family and close friends what had transpired in LA. Everyone was so happy for her. She had been keeping close contact with some of her new label mates especially Drake. They had been talking on the phone a lot and they really was beginning to become good friends. She was happy that he made the move to LA being that it was much easier to establish an American fan base there.

Drake was at LAX waiting in the Air Canada terminal for his mom and daughter. Today was the day he would be reunited with his daughter after a week apart. He had to get everything ready for her. People started entering the the terminal and he was so ready to see them. He was looking anxiously at everyone who exited the plane hoping that he'd spot them soon. Mama Sandi came into view a short while later with Scarlett at her side holding onto her pink stuffed bunny. Drake's eyes lighted up with joy. He couldn't wait to have her in his arms again. Sandi spotted him and smiled.

"Baby look, who is that?" she said stooping down to the child's level pointing to Drake. Scarlett looked at Drake making his way over and called

"Dada." Drake heard her little voice and melted, he couldn't wait any longer, he started sprinting towards them. When he made it over to them, he immediately picked up Scarlett and held her close to him.

"My baby, I missed you" he said kissing her up. Scarlett just giggled at her father's affection. He hugged his mom and kissed her forehead.

"How was the flight" he asked taking some of her bags.

"It was good, she got a little scared when we took off but considering that this was her first time flying she did well." Drake looked at Scarlett,

"You was scared baby?" he asked. Scarlett just rested her head on his shoulder in a shy manner and he chuckled. They made their way to the car and Drake secured Scarlett in her car seat and helped his mom into the passenger seat. After making sure they were inside he loaded the luggage into the back and hopped in.

"Aubrey I like this car, it's really nice"

"Thanks ma!" he said driving off in his new all black Range Rover.

"So how's everything going so far" she asked.

"Everything is going well, I'm more relaxed now that I'm situated"

"That's good, I'm proud of you"

"Thanks ma, that means a lot"

"So have you made any new friends yet"

"Yeah, a couple but there's one that I wouldn't mind being more!"

"Really? Who is that special person, if you don't mind me asking?" she asked raising her eyebrows.

"Her name is Nicki; she's a rapper too."

"Oh ok then, I have to meet her someday."

"In due time ma...you will." he smiled.

"I'm glad your finally considering dating again, I want you to be happy Aubrey; It's been awhile now."

"I'm not dating her yet, we're just friends"

"Well I'm glad your happy." Drake pulled in the driveway and Sandi's eyes grew wide.

"We're here" he said excited to show the house to them.

"I love it already Aubrey" Sandi exclaimed. Drake looked in the back seat and Scarlett was fast asleep in
her car seat holding her pink bunny.

"Some one's tired" he chuckled. Sandi turned to look at Scarlett's sleeping figure.

"She had a long day" she said smiling.

"Aww...my baby tired" he said getting out the vehicle. Drake went around to the back to get their luggage, while Sandi got Scarlett. He opened the door to his new home and placed the bags down on the floor. He took the sleeping child from his mother and escorted her to Scarlett's bedroom upstairs. Once he opened the door he laid her down in her bed and placed a blanket over her. Sandi went around the room admiring every little detail.

"This is absolutely gorgeous" she said looking around at all the pretty flowers on the wall.

"Do you really?"

"Yeah I do; she'll love it" They walked out of her room careful not to wake her and preceded exploring the house. It had a nice kitchen and a huge backyard which Drake really wanted so Scarlett could have lots of room to play and a huge pool with a studio.

"Well, looks like you put a lot of thought into this house Aubrey"

"I sure did" Drake grabbed her bags and put it in the guest room where she would be sleeping for the next few days. Sandi made them some sandwiches and placed them on the island.

"You hungry?" she asked him as he made his way back to the kitchen.

"Ma it hasn't been an hour yet and your already in my kitchen" he laughed picking up a sandwich.

"Oh boy hush you know you like my food" she said kissing her teeth.

"You know I do" he said taking a bite out of his sandwich.

Two days later Mama Sandi was packing up to go back home to Canada. She felt like Drake had everything under control and she didn't have to worry now that he was settled into his new home. She made her way downstairs only to find Scarlett in her highchair and Drake watching her feed herself breakfast.

"You all packed, ma?" He asked.

"Yeah, I am" she replied.

"Ok, can you watch her while I go get your bags out the room"

"Sure, no problem " Drake got up and went upstairs. After he loaded all the bags in the car he went into the
kitchen. Sandi was cleaning Scarlett up.

"Your ready" she asked.

"Yes everything is in the car" Drake picked Scarlett up and went to the car and Sandi followed. They pulled
up at the airport and Drake walked around to Sandi and opened the door. She got out and checked her baggage. Drake waited by the car with Scarlett in his arms for her to come and say goodbye. Moments later she was done checking in and returned to her son. She reached out her arms and hugged him tight.

"You take care ok" she said.

"I will, don't worry"

"I'm your mother, I will always worry"

"Haha, I want you to call me when you land" he said kissing her forehead.

"Ok....bye bye Scarlett, grandma's gonna miss you" she said rubbing the child's arm. She kissed her hand and waved goodbye. Drake waved bye too.

"Scarlett say bye bye to nana"

"Bye bye Nana" she said waving her little hand back and forth. Drake looked at his mom walking off in the distance then back at Scarlett.

"It's just me and you now princess"

"Dada and Sarlefh?" she said.

"Yes me and you" he said tapping her on the nose. She giggled and with that Drake put Scarlett back in her car seat and returned home. Once they got back, Drake layed out some of her toys in the living room and turned the TV to one of her favorite shows which was strawberry shortcake.

*Two weeks later*

Drake had been looking around for a full time, live-in nanny all last week. He had to hire someone who was well qualified and good with kids. He couldn't just pick anybody. Him and 40 had to work in his home studio for now, while Drake continued searching for a nanny. Drake had a show in a couple days so he needed to find one and fast.

It was Thursday afternoon and Drake was tired of interviewing people. Scarlett had just went down for her nap when the doorbell rang again. Drake opened the door and saw a young lady who appeared to be in her early twenty's with some black slacks with matching blazer and heels. Her hair was tied back into a ponytail.

"May I help you?" he asked.

"Yes, I heard that you were looking for a Nanny/Assistant"

"Yes I am, please come in"

"Thank you, I'm Lisa by the way" she said shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you Lisa" Drake escorted her into the living room to sit.

"Excuse all the mess"

"It's fine, I understand"

"So how long have you been a nanny"

"Four years" she replied.

"Are you licensed in CPR"

"Yes I am, as a matter of fact here's my resume" she took it out of her folder and handed it to him.

"Thank you" he said reading over it.

"Wow you can speak french, Spanish and you know sign language too?

"Yes, I can teach her if you want me too"

"I would love that"

"Can you cook and clean?"

"I cook a little bit, and I do clean, I'm little bit of a germaphobe!

"Haha...ok that's good to know" he laughed.

"Do you know how to swim?"

"Yes, I can swim" she smiled.

"Ok, well you have all the qualifications I'm looking for, I just have to do a background check on you, I'll be
right back"

"Ok" she nodded. Ten minutes later Drake came back, he hadn't found anything wrong and hired her on the
spot. She was excited.

"You can start tomorrow, then we'll go from there ok"

"Thank you for your time Mr. Graham"

"No...thank you" he said shaking her hand again and walking her to the door. After the interview Drake decided to go work in the studio while Scarlett was still taking a nap. He grabbed the baby monitor and his phone of the coffee table and made his way down the hall. Once he sat down in the chair he started writing down lyrics that came to him. A few minutes later he grabbed his blackberry and texted Nicki.

"Hey, how was your day?" She saw his text and smiled.

"It was pretty good, my friends threw me an amazing party last night and I'm in the studio working right
now"

"Sounds like fun, I'm in my home studio too"

"It was but one of my friends wasn't here so I felt incomplete"

"Oh really? :)"

"Yes really"

"Your so corny"

"I know but I bet your smiling, aren't you"

"Oh please no one is smiling at that little happy face"

"Stop frontin'"

"I'm not ;)"

"Ok since you don't wanna be real with a nigga, ttyl"

"No don't go"

"Bye Nic"

"Ok fine I was smiling, you happy?"

"Very :)"

"See there you go being corny again"

"And yet your still smiling"

"I am, I'm not gonna lie"

"So when am I going to see that smile again?"

"Well I'm not going to be in LA any time soon so IDK"

"That's unfortunate because I really want to see you again"

"As do I"

"I guess we'll just have to wait then"

"Yeah, we do"

"Well I'm gonna go finish up this record, I'll talk to you later"

"Same here"

"Ok, bye beautiful"

"Bye Drake" Drake put his phone down and began writing again. After an hour of writing he heard shuffling through the baby monitor and he knew Scarlett had woken up. He closed his book grabbed his phone and the monitor and made his way upstairs to her room. He opened the door and she was in her toddler bed with her bunny rubbing her eyes.

"Hey baby, you had a nice nap?" he said picking her up. She smiled at him.

"Come on, lets go make dinner" He made his way downstairs to the kitchen and put Scarlett down.

"Ok spaghetti or chicken?"

"Chi-ten" she said excitedly.Drake laughed at how she couldn't quite pronounce the word yet.

"Alright chicken it is!" he said grabbing it from the fridge. He washed his hands and started preparing dinner. He decided to pair it with broccoli and brown rice. He boiled some water in a pot and let Scarlett drop the broccoli in one by one.

"Yayy" she said clapping her hands.Drake knew she loved to help cook dinner and found it very exciting.

When everything was done he picked her up and put her in her chair and went to fix the plates. He grabbed her princess Jasmine plate and spoon out of the cabinet and a white china plate for him. He opened the fridge and got a bottle water and some apple juice and poured it into her sippy cup. He handed her, her food and she dug in. He began eating too. After they were done eating, he cleaned up everything including Scarlett's chair which had rice everywhere. He text 40 to come over because they had to work in the studio later.

*Next Day*

"Scarlett come here baby" Drake said loudly. Soon she came running around the corner with her princess
tiara in her hand.

"Yes daddy"

"You want to go play outside"

"Yes" she said dancing.

"Ok lets get you some shoes" he laughed. He picked her up and they went upstairs into her closet.

"Ok what about these" he said picking up some white and pink sandals.

"Noooo" she said making a sad face.

"Ok what about these then?" he asked showing her a pair of sparkly gold thong sandals.

"Yes"

"Come on, lets get these on your feet" he said strapping them on her.

They went outside enjoyed the warm LA sun. They played in the sandbox for awhile then Drake got her purple beach ball threw it into the air and caught it. Scarlett looked on with amazement as the ball came down.

"Come throw the ball baby" Scarlett ran over to her father as fast as she could. She picked up the ball and tried to throw it but it didn't reach far into the air being that she was little and the ball was bigger than her. Drake picked her up and twirled her around in his arms. She squealed with delight. He loved it when it was just the two of them, it felt like they were the only two on earth. Lisa was scheduled to start today so he wanted to spend more time with her since he would be busy in the coming days. Drake heard the doorbell and him and Scarlett went to open it.

"Hello Mr. Graham" she said smiling and shaking his hand.

"Good morning Lisa, excited for your first day!" he asked letting her inside. Scarlett held onto Drake's legs
tightly. He looked down at her worried face.

"Yes I am" she said.

"Ok, this is my daughter Scarlett, she's a little shy right now but she'll come around" he said crossing his fingers behind his back. Lisa looked at the little girl and stooped to her level.

"Hello Scarlett, I'm Lisa" she said taking out a plush cabbage patch doll and giving it to her.

"I brought you this, you can play with her" Scarlett stared at her for a minute while Drake watched the scene
unfold. She took the doll and said "Hi." Drake wiped his forehead in relief. Lisa just stood up winked.

"I got this" she whispered. By then Scarlett ran off calling Lisa to come play. Drake took this time to catch up on some business. The sun was just about to set over the horizon when Lisa took Scarlett inside the kitchen for a snack and then later a bath. After she got her dressed in her tinker bell pajamas, they went into the living room and watched cartoons until she feel asleep. She placed her in her bed carefully and closed the door. She went downstairs to tell Drake that she was sleep.

"Mr. Graham, Scarlett is asleep"

"Ok, let me show you where you'll be sleeping from now on"

"Ok" she said. They made their way down the hall to her bedroom.

"It's not much but I hope you like it" he said showing her where everything was.

"It's fine, I love it"

"Good then I guess I'll see you in the morning, you did good today by the way" he said walking towards the
door and closing it. Lisa went to car and got some of her stuff and got settled.

*Nicki's P.O.V*

As soon as I was done texting Drake I had a huge smile on my face that I wasn't even aware of. Everyone in the studio noticed it even though I didn't.

"Whoever that was they sure got you smiling for miles" Candi said.

"What are you talking about I'm always smiling so mind ya business!" I replied.

"Oh no you don't, you be walking around mean as ever sometimes, so don't even lie like that" Safaree spoke up.

"I'm not lying, why y'all don't just let me be?" I asked.

"Girl please you gonna spill right NOW, I wanna know!" Lauren said grabbing my arm and pulling me out
the studio to one of the conference rooms next door. Candi and TT followed us.

"Alright, alright you guys..damn!" I said giving up.

"We waiting, so go on" TT said with an attitude.

"It's not even that serious but there's this guy in the group named Drake and he's really handsome"

"Ok keep going" Lauren insisted.

"Well we are becoming good friends and we had this weird connection from the get go, I found him staring at me when we went out to celebrate as a group so I know he finds me attractive"

"Oooh girl you better get that" Candi said snapping her fingers.

"Oh shut up" I smiled.

"No but for real you like him?" Lauren asked seriously.

"Yeah I do and he knows it too" I replied.

"Well what's the problem then?" Candi said confused.

"He just moved here" I answered.

"What do you mean Nicki" TT asked.

"He just moved from Canada" I said looking at them waiting to see what they would say.

"Oh hell naw...you mean to tell me he from across the border...NO NO" Tyesha said shaking her head being very over the top as always.Everyone just laughed at her being so dramatic.

"Well Nic, I'm happy for you, you finally found someone you interested in...thank God!" Lauren said raising her hands over her head.

"I know that's right, every dude we try to hook your ass up with you denied them" Candi reminded me.

"That's because y'all have no taste in men" I said putting my hands on my hip.

"Whatever girl" Lauren stated.

"Can we get off this topic please" I asked.

"Yes, cause I need a drink. Lawd she swimming cross the border!!" TT exclaimed. I shook my head and we all busted out laughing and went back into the studio.

"Aye what y'all laughing at?" Safaree asked.

"Wouldn't yo wanna know" Candi shoved him.

"Oh so yall got secrets now, I thought we were friends?"

"Nigga why you sound hurt?" Lauren asked.

"I ain't hurt, besides I already know who it's about"

"How you know?" I asked surprised.

"Nic please, I know you feeling da boy Drizzy!"

"Whattt!" My mouthed dropped. How the hell he know, then I thought back to that night at the club. He probably was watching me....smh.
